Recently, OOGPLUS successfully completed another cargo supervision assignment for a customer shipping a complete set of large power transformer equipment from Shanghai, China, to Durban, South Africa.
The shipment consisted of 25 individual packages with a total cargo volume of 169 cubic meters. The largest unit—the transformer body—measured 6,550 × 2,300 × 3,850 mm and weighed 79,730 kilograms. Due to its exceptional weight and dimensions, the cargo required specialized handling throughout the loading process.
The shipment was transported aboard a Grimaldi Ro-Ro vessel, utilizing MAFI trailers, a proven solution for transporting extremely heavy and oversized cargo that cannot be safely loaded into conventional containers. This transportation method significantly improves cargo stability while reducing unnecessary lifting operations during the ocean voyage.
To ensure every loading operation complied with project logistics standards, OOGPLUS dispatched an experienced cargo supervision team to the terminal. Throughout the loading process, our specialists carefully monitored every stage of the operation, including cargo positioning, lifting procedures, securing arrangements, equipment utilization, and loading sequences.
Our engineers worked closely with terminal operators, stevedores, and vessel representatives to verify that every operation was carried out according to the approved loading plan and the carrier's technical requirements.
