In recent years, with the rapid development of heavy industry and energy-related projects, the demand for professional project cargo transportation has continued to grow. Out of gauge equipment such as pressurized stills places extremely high requirements on logistics planning, vessel selection, lifting capability, and operational coordination. Leveraging years of experience in the project logistics sector, our company once again successfully executed a complex batch engineering shipment, further reinforcing our reputation as a respected and reliable project logistics specialist within the industry.
This project involved the transportation of pressurized stills, with a total of 10 complete sets. Each unit measured 17,700 mm in length, 3,400 mm in width, and 3,600 mm in height, with an individual gross weight of 40,345 kilograms. The total shipment volume reached 1,824.82 cubic meters, classifying it as a typical large-scale project cargo movement. The cargo was shipped from Shanghai, China, to Laem Chabang, Thailand, a key industrial port in Southeast Asia.
From the initial inquiry stage, our project team was deeply involved in the planning process. Based on the cargo dimensions, weight distribution, and delivery timeline, we conducted a comprehensive feasibility assessment covering inland transportation, port handling, lifting arrangements, and ocean carriage. For project cargo of this nature, conventional containerized solutions were neither economical nor operationally suitable. After careful evaluation, we proposed a break bulk shipping solution combined with a heavy-lift vessel, which was ultimately approved by the client.
The selection of a break bulk vessel equipped with heavy-lift cranes was a critical success factor for this project. Each pressurized stills unit required precise lifting operations both at the load port and discharge port. Our engineering team worked closely with the vessel operator to confirm crane capacity, lifting points, center of gravity, and sling configurations. Detailed lifting plans and method statements were prepared in advance to ensure full compliance with safety standards and port regulations.
At the port of Shanghai, our on-site operations team coordinated seamlessly with the terminal, stevedores, and surveyors. Given the cargo size and weight, the margin for error was minimal. Each unit was carefully positioned, lifted, and loaded under strict supervision. Special attention was paid to vessel stowage planning to optimize weight distribution and ensure stability during the sea voyage. All cargo was securely lashed and sea-fastened according to approved engineering calculations, minimizing risks associated with long-distance ocean transportation.
Throughout the transportation process, our company maintained close communication with all stakeholders, providing timely updates to the client regarding loading progress, vessel departure, and estimated arrival. Proactive risk management and early preparation allowed us to effectively mitigate potential challenges, such as port congestion, weather conditions, and operational constraints. This level of transparency and professionalism played a key role in building trust and confidence with the client.
Upon arrival at Laem Chabang, the discharge operation was executed smoothly with the support of local partners and port authorities. The heavy-lift vessel’s onboard cranes enabled efficient and safe unloading, significantly reducing handling time and operational risk. All 10 autoclave units were delivered in excellent condition, meeting both the technical requirements and the project schedule.
The successful completion of this shipment once again demonstrates our company’s strong capabilities in handling large-scale engineering and project cargo transportation. From solution design and operational planning to execution and risk control, every step of the process was carefully managed and fully recognized by the client. As a result of this successful cooperation, the client has expressed strong satisfaction and has entrusted us with future project opportunities.
With extensive experience in breakbulk shipping, heavy-lift operations, and complex project logistics, our company remains committed to delivering safe, efficient, and customized transportation solutions for oversized and heavyweight cargo worldwide. This autoclave project stands as another solid example of our professionalism, execution strength, and long-term value to our clients.
